What a lovely day in Amsterdam it was, for couple of various reasons, but most important is that I got to spend it with my best friend! We don’t get to see each other often, but every second spent together is priceless. She lives in America, I live in The Netherlands, but no matter how far we are, I know we are friends for life.
It was Julia’s first time in Amsterdam and the weather was perfect, so we decided to spend the day enjoying the city. We took a stroll through my favourite neighbourhood in A’dam – Jordan, in spring and summer this area is so beautiful. You can see old dutch architecture, bootes going through the canals and ducks crossing the streets.
But most important – we got time to talk! And believe me, we talked a LOT!! Although I am thankful to have technology which allows us to talk and see each other online, but nothing will ever replace being able to see your friend and hold hands, hear each other laughs and simply be together!
I don’t know when we will get to see each other again, and I know that this one day spent together will keep my heart warm and full of memories until next time!!
I started my day all planned out: first get a nice sleep out, than ran to my waxing appointment, followed by a nice afternoon at the café working on a new video or a blog post. Good thing is – I did manage to sleep out, but everything after that I failed…
As I left the house to go get my bicycle and go for my appointment, I saw that somebody had dropped something really heavy on both of our bicycles (since they are parked together) and crashed them both completely. Neither one of the bicycles is functioning and also not fixable. No note left….nothing… I just don’t understand those people, why is everybody so selfish and careless… ?
Obviously I wasn’t able to make my appointment anymore, so I tried to reschedule it, and the only time they had was after a couple of hours, so now I had some time to kill. Since sea always calms me down, I decided to make a short trip to the beach and just relax there for a bit. And as I got to the beach, I saw that first beach cafés are already opened and the weather couldn’t be more perfect for that. So I decided to stay and canceled my appointment.
As I am typing this sentence I am sitting at a lovely wooden table facing the sea, enjoying my rose wine and breathing in the sea air…
Sorry for the blurry pictures, I didn’t plan to make any photos today so left my camera home, and using my iphone instead.
I heard about Zoeva brand so may times, but I just never got a chance to try it. I haven’t seen it being so easily available in the shops, so I knew I would have to order it online and I just never got around it…until couple of days ago. I remember it was morning, I woke up and literary the first thing I did was getting my laptop and making Zoeva order. It took just couple of days to arrive, since they are shipping from Germany.
I ordered just couple of things, since it was my first time and I wanted to try it out first.
Zoeva has recently released their new collection of eye shadows called “Spectrum”, which I was also very tempted to get, but at the end I decided to go with a traditional nude palette. Golden-brown-nude colours suit me the most, so I knew I would get a lot of wear out of this palette.
There are 10 different eye shadows in this palette, from light beige colour and all the way until black. Eye shadows have matte, satin, metallic and duo chrome finish, so with one palette I can easily create day and evening make-up look, and that is definitely a win for me.
The second item I got was a blush palette , which has pressed rose-gold blush, highlighting and contour powder. I am very excited to give it a go!
And last but not least, I also got 3 new make-up brushed. I thought since I am getting new face and eye make-up I might as well apply it with a new brushes. So I picked up 2 eye shadow brushes: one for the crease (number 221) and one all-over shader (number 222) and 1 highlighting brush (number 105).
