Maybe about a year ago I realized that I don’t like anything from my closet. You remember the times when your mom still used to buy you clothes and she paid for that good quality winter jacket or boots, which we all know are not cheap these days? And than the time came when you had to move out, start paying your own bills and buying your own clothes. In the first year or two you could still get away with wearing what was left from shopping with your kind mom, but at some point you realized that everything became so outdated, too worn out and just didn’t fit you anymore. So than you go on a hunt to find a nice replacement for that same winter jacket, and after a couple of hours of wondering from store to store you realize that you can’t actually afford a nice good quality peace, so you ending up buying something which looks ok-ish, but costs you less money and of course sacrificing the quality. And as the time goes on, you replace most of the items from your closet with cheaper alternatives. And than you ending up at the point where I am now: your closet is full of clothes and you have nothing to wear.
The lesson is learned – always choose quality over quantity!! Of course I knew it already, but probably I am that type of person who first makes a mistake and than learn from it.
My PLAN OF ACTIONS right now is to slowly and wisely transform my wardrobe by getting rid of things I don’t wear and/or like anymore and by adding a good quality wardrobe basics. And when I will have that done, I will spice it up with a couple of trendy items of the season.
I know every single girl at some point of her life has or is struggling with the same problem, so in my next posts I will share with you guys the list of my must-have basic items and also my journey of finding them and implementing into my new style.
So #1 on my list was a trench coat, of course. In my mind every woman should own one. It’s such a timeless peace, so classy, sophisticated and sexy at the same time. I found mine from Mango. I laid my eyes on it couple of months ago but it was a bit too expensive for me, so I waited and bought it later for half the price. I couldn’t be more happy with this purchase!!
Here are some pictures we shot on our first day in Italy. We arrived early in the morning to Milan, had to wait a bit until we could check-in in our hotel and than got ready and headed out to explore the city. The weather was a bit gloomy, so I did through my leather jacket on top. For the rest I kept my outfit pretty simple yet stylish. The key was to feel comfy, because I knew we were going to walk a lot on that day. On my feet I decided to put my well-loved black suede slip-ons.
Leather jacket – ZARA
Striped top – Primark
Scuba skirt – Kira Plastinina
Black suede slip-ons – Van Dalen
Hello my beautiful friends,
Hope you are all doing well and enjoying autumn as much as I do.
October is my favorite month of all. It’s just so beautiful outside. The weather is still warm and sunny and you can get away with wearing a leather jacket on top of a t-shirt or a flannel, which is like my favorite combo ever. Here in Holland we don’t get to see a lot of sun even during the warmest months, but somehow in October it’s completely opposite. At those days I want to spend as much time as possible outside. So last week when me and Eric decided to go for nice afternoon walk in the forest, I pulled out of my closet the most autumnal clothes I have. To tell you the trues those are probably also the oldest clothes in my closet, as they were bought when I was still living in Ukraine But nevertheless I fitted in the surroundings perfectly. And of course an autumn must-have – dark berry lips, I went for Rimmel Kate Mose lipstick in shade 107.
Sweater & Skirt – Terranova
Scarf & Earrings- Zara
Shoes – Manfield
Neckless – H&M
